It was well known in the industry and well documented in mixmag that Beats used extra bits of metal inside the headphone to give it extra weight and a premium feel whereas the speaker driver was probably about £2 from China... Absolute con and just shows you that if you brainwash idiots with dumb celebs then people will go with it in the name of following the trend and trying to look cool! The high price tag was there to make it seem like you bought a superior product but in fact you were getting something with low quality and just buying it as a status symbol.

Honestly, when you usually hear about celebrity businesses, it's almost always things like Goop. Idiotic ideas fueled solely by the particular celebrity's success. But Dre? The man saw an open niche, got the right people together, filled it, and was rewarded because he provided something actually useful. That's one of the best sides of capitalism right there.

Lol they were garbage. They conned apple into buying this garbage company. Honestly the best headphones for the money are now Plantronics. Last gen beat Bose qc35's in 2/4 main categories. Bose win in high end and of course noise cancelling. Plans win in kid and low range. Beautiful and amazing for 200$ less than Bose....... Idk about the current gen though! Nice. After watching more, your explanation makes much more sense! Always knew beats wr3re crap, and never understood why apple bought it....

What happened is dre collabed with MONSTER AUDIO and they was the best headphones on the market. Soon as they got big dre dropped monster out n the headphones sound quality dropped then he sold it to apple and the audio got even worse. Bag of shit headphones now. If you can source a pair get a old pair of beats Pro by monster and you'll have the correct sound they was meant to be

I had 2 beats : a studio 1st gen and a mixr. The build quality is shit honestly, both broke at the headband. And the sound quality... it's not worth the price but it still delivers a "decent" experience (upgrading from anything built-in will still feel incredible) Bought some Senheiser for roughly the same price years later, sounds way better but the noise cancelling wasn't as good as the studio

Beats were always garbage. AKG and Sennheiser started making prosumer products that were actually high quality. Beats knew their product was so cheap and flimsy they put metal weights inside to give them weight, playing on weight is quality fallacy. Bose is better than Beats.. and unlike a lot of normies, us audio engineers understand how trash Bose is. Also, Apple is overdo for being sued again by Apple Records. They are clearly breaching the agreement made by once again wondering into music.
