There are so many assumptions being made in this video, I barely know where to begin. Let’s start with chargers. Just with the ubiquity of usb charging as a requirement, no wall outlet in my house doesn’t have usb built in. So no. Not everyone is buying new chargers. 2: speed...nobody I’ve ever met cares that much. I plug my phone in at night, I have a super short cable for those quick boosts I need. 3: earphones. Do I even need to mention this one? Seriously? I have 3 different sets of Bluetooth earphones and no you don’t need to spend hundreds. Ok one of mine did, but like everyone else, I’m happy to pay for the quality and convenience! I’ve got 1 hipster friend who still uses cabled earphones! The last 3 phones I gave away still had the charger, earphones and cables in the box unopened! I’ve got dozens of usb cables laying around the house and a few more in the car! I can buy a new computer without a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I can buy home cinema separates without speakers and cables. How is this dynamic any different?! It’s nonsensical.

It gets worse. I spend my life between 3 locations, and have chargers for all my tech, including e-bikes AT EACH location!

It really feels like you have glossed over the fact that most people watching this can buy a charger, without ANY packaging, at a gas station or conveyance store. Yes, headphone technology is changing, but that'll be a single blip for the next 10 years at least. I have chargers EVERYWHERE. I have excess chargers. I don't need or want more. I don't care if it takes twice as long to charge on my old one, I charge while I'm sleeping, and very few things take more than 8 hours to charge.

The title is a bit clickbaity since you never mention the REAL reason Apple stopped including chargers. Apple and Samsung are well aware of the packaging paradox that shipping the accessories separately creates. The people who don’t get it is the politicians, specifically those of the European Union who threatened to sue Apple in 2018 if they didn’t stop “flooding the market with wasteful accessories”. You came close at about 8 minutes when you briefly skimmed over the difference between Lightning and USB-C, but you meandered away before mentioning that they would also have been included in that lawsuit. Aside from that though you do have some good points.

It would be funny if the next iPhone came with a charger, Apple admits this was more wasteful and everyone follows suit again. They would get all kinds of hate but I’d be ok with two retail versions - 1 with headphone and charger and another version with nothing for maybe $20 less? Anyone who thinks Apple (and the other device sellers) removes the charger (or earbuds) from the package is being environmental, is a big idiot. They remove things to make you pay multiples more for a fancy version, like a charging circle (or airpods). As others have noted, it’s about greed not green, and economy not ecology. I used to work retail selling and signing people up with phones. The difficult part of this was combining consumer electronic sales with mobility sales. Part of our training was to add on as many accessories as possible (extra chargers, earbuds, etc), as a multi item receipt looked better to the company than a single item. The usual add-ons were already in the box though, so persuading customers to get extra wasn't easy. I can see this being encouraged by retailers just to boost sales

it's the usual crap of greed company. u whanna protect the enviroment? then make the phones again builded so the final user can change the battery. now they design (often poorly) phones that barely last the guarantee time. Any of u remember nokia 3210 ? u can swap the battery really easy, the battery didnt cost a tons and the phone charge was lasting for a week. yes A WEEK. Ofc was doing what was made for PHONE. so calls, sms . no video. no camera no gps no wifi hotspot etc etc etc. The real reason why they're not adding the charger? couse then u can sell it for 50 60 bucks a thing that cost like 5-6 bucks ( to make it. im not speaking of chinese bad copy). The real answer? make a STANDARD universal charger for all phones. with 1 type of connector. UH ... it's Called USB ... B or C depend on when u bought it. A good question to ask to Apple is : why i need an "adaptor" to connect YOUR phone to an USB port? For Apple lovers... instead to THiNK different.... START TO USE YOUR BRAIN ;)

But I suppose on the flip side the companies could respond by saying that eliminating the chargers also contributed to the green effect by reducing manufacturing required to supply, package, and ship those chargers. But to flip that back around on Apple, then why ship a usb-c to lightning cable when only usb c chargers came with the iPhone 11? (Or recent iPads). I mean, how many iPhone 11 users upgraded to the 12 and didn’t need a usb-c charger?
