Ok, Just crap about SONY Ericsson Though. Before Ericsson was bought out, they had actually turned the buissness around and lots of number did point up. They did change to android and smartphones and of course Windows Mobile OS or what ever it was called. So Sony Ericsson Smartphones did sell good. But yes, it didnt go to well when SONY ERICSSON did choose to leave teir own Symbian UIQ, who was actually the better variant of SYMBIAN to NOKIAS Symbian version within the SATIO-phone. UIQ was much better for controll in my opinion from the screen than NOKIA variant of SYMBIAN was. But when Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc/ Arc S, Xperia Ray, Xperia S, and so on, came SONY ERICSSON turned their numbers around but despite that fact, media was still saying it wasnt. SONY actually bought a company that was doing better than OK, thats why they bought it in the first place. They wouldnt have done that, if it was a going so bad, as it did during SYMBIAN OS years. SOn 2011 SONY bought out Ericsson and 2012 when SONY scrapped the ERICSSOn in their LOG, but kept the liquide logo, it was still doing good, and it was good until 2015 I think.... Then SONY had released they Xperia Z line for the third or thourth time, and reviewers were going kinda hard on SONY, and I think only Sony tablets got good reviews at that time. Despite good reviews for the tablet done by SONY MOBILE, SONY didnt sell those. So to be factual, it was mostly reviewers like yourself, and media, that in sense tanked SONY from here on. Suddenly all phones should look like iphones and Samsung-devices and all phones that did go against that, Got bad reviews. And number 3, as a fail. SONY Is kidna live, THANKS to what SONY ERICSSON did before SONY bought Ericsson out. It was the Ericsson part that urge SONY to go over too Android wich they did 2010 with XPera X10 and later on Xperia X10 mini/mini Pro. Those smaller once was a turning point for SONY ERICSSON and their phones was release 2011 and 2012 (yes it says SONY on 2012 phones, but it was developed by SONY ERICSSON, not SONY) and the number did point up. SO how could that direction been a fail. SONY is still around doing phones.

While it may not have performed very well, I'm personally a huge fan of the Wing's form factor. It's much more mobile and ergonomic than trying to carry around a phone unfolded into a tablet to multitask on the go. And, at least through my biased eyes, the compromises are minimal and the design and durability are surprisingly well executed for the first generation of a wacky new form factor.

As someone who owns a wing, i enjoy the double screen usage. For instance. The camera has controls when flipped open, like a gimbal mode, and directional telescoping. I can watch a movie in horizontal mode and still reply to texts without exiting.

The biggest fail I saw on a smartphone was a continual reboot that could not be interrupted, caused by a cheap on/off button that would simply wear down with use.

I see the LG Wing as a great concept in theory, that is difficult to execute correctly in practice. You can have an entire screen for the content and the square panel for the keyboard or a secondary app or even in some circumstances side content of the same app. But there's no way you could convince the entire population of Android app developers to make their apps compatible with this. Even the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip barely had any Non-Samsung apps that took advantage of its Flip Mode. For that LG Wing concept to work you'd have to be Apple and make an iPhone with it.

I'm not gonna lie, I'd actually consider buying the Marshall phone. The most important thing in a phone, at least for me, is the ability to play music while I'm out doing other things. The Volk concept also SERIOUSLY piqued my interest. My only concern would be in regards to security, and if other users would be able to see what was being received and re-transmitted.

actually symbian had an app store. Both nokia and some blackberry models (rebranded symbian os ones) had access to it. I still have nokia e72 with wtih multiple apps installed from the store (ms office,...) And I've seen a symbian based blakcberry device running whatsapp and viber. PS: I'll prefer having fewer good and useful apps, than an app store infested with idiotic fraudulent apps and cloned games which steal assets from other games (that actually happens a lot in the pc gaming world nowadays). Come on Google play store is becoming a joke. Mobile games that cost nothing but require payments of 1000+ euros per month to be good at them? And even fraudulent advertisements pop up constantly on android devices in most websites in most browsers - and they don't appear on any pc browser (the "photostick" crap for example). Nokia C7, X7, etc (full touchscreen smartphone based on symbian 3) was awesome for the time it was released in.

Perhaps it is because I have been designing sites as well as investigating scams for 2 decades but it just seemed obvious to me that it was just a selling ploy like they did on TV's back when. You see the same picture on all the the items and realize it is just an example as they have to have something on the screen right? Is it just me or did a lot of people really think "oh that pic was taken with that phone? Wow nice! I want that phone so I can take quality pics too!" .... I am the same way with printers .. I never believe the example pic that I can actually print that quality with it. Perhaps I am a doubting Thomas. Who knows. But so far I have not been proven wrong. Just like photo frames that have a photo of a happy family in them .. I never believed that family was happy but staged. Ya I could go on. Selling ploy. Advertising. It is just business. I had a Sony Ericsson back in the day too and it was one of the only phones that used infrared to transfer files. I would just put it beside my laptop and beam music into it and it worked great. It was a really good phone till someone snapped it in half on me in a fight. I can't say anything bad about it or that it was a fail.

I still have my UT Starcom ha ha it was even before the lg slide phone. It might have been the first phone with a slide out keyboard. Sadly it's hardware dose not work anymore. Modern wifi is a different frequency so it can't connect to wifi anymore 😒. It runs on a version of Windows too.
